ABCCONN Annual Gathering

Celebrating 199 Years

This year’s ABCCONN Annual Gathering will be 100 percent in-person with Facebook virtual access. I am excited about this in-person meeting at the Church of the City in New London. Because we will be fully in person, masks will be optional, and of course, you can watch them online via Facebook.

We have two speakers that will bring insight to this year’s theme, “Together In Ministry Embodying Christ’s Love.” II Corinthians 13:11. The Reverend Dr. Mari Onwubuariri will be the day’s plenary teacher. Reverend  Onwubuariri is the former Associate General Secretary for the ABCUSA and now serves as Intercultural Ministries Director at the ABC Home Mission Societies. The Reverend Jill Harvey will be our preacher. Reverend Harvey is the pastor of the Niantic Baptist Church of Niantic, CT.

Then stay for a special tribute immediately following the Annual Gathering in honor of the Reverend Sonia Gonzalez, celebrating 22 years of ministry.

The ABCCONN Annual Gather registration is now open. The registration price will be $25.00 per person, or a church can register sets of four people for $75.00. If you register as a church, use the contact person’s email address and the church’s physical location address. Someone will contact you to get individual names for registration. If you are registering more than one person but not as a church, please fill out a separate registration for each individual. Also, write in Annual Gathering in the “Special Project or  Mission” box. (Please see example)

Please click here to register. This link will take you to the ABCCONN Website, where you will sign up and pay.

Don’t do electronic payments? Register by sending a check to the ABCCONN Office at 90A North Main Street, West Hartford, CT 06107. Paying by check for more than one person, please send in a note of the names of the people the payment is to cover.

Becoming a Beloved Community

In my address to the participants and delegates at the ABCCONN Annual meeting held in September 2021, I invited ABCCONN to imagine a new paradigm of the regional ministry. I preposed that we who make up ABCCONN rethink our priorities by making the relationship with one another the priority.

Baptists have always held relationships as a critical component of our identity. We know this component as the
