December 30, 2019

  • We pray for Rev. Kevin Butler, ABCCONN's Administrative Manager, as he receives treatment for pancreatic cancer. We also hold in our prayers all who love and care for Kevin including, family members, friends, and medical staff. Per our recent communication, please send your prayers for Kevin to Rev. Dr. Harry Riggs by emailing him at hriggs@abcconn.org. Please email Harry by Monday, January 6, 2020. Thank you for keeping Kevin in your prayers!
  • During these final days of 2019, we thank God for the past year and pray for us to allow the Holy Spirit to be our guide in the year to come.
  • We pray for the family of Charles Hilton whose daughter, Cheryl, has shared that he died on December 19, 2019. The family invites us to join them to celebrate his life on Friday, January 10, 2020, at First Baptist Southington. The calling hour is 10:00-11:00 am, and the service begins at 11:00 am.
  • For the peace of God to be with our families, congregations, and every member of the global community.
  • For the pastors and lay leaders of our local churches.
  • For victims of natural disasters all over the world.
  • For victims of violence locally, nationally, and globally.
  • For our nation and all our elected officials.

For whom and for what do you pray?

Dear Friends, the ABCCONN Mission Scholarship Committee needs to know what mission trips are being planned by our sister churches in 2020.  Our goal is to enable young people who long to go on a mission trip to afford it when it might not be possible otherwise.  We also try to connect people with mission trips other churches are sending when their home church is not doing one.  Last year we gave out four scholarships of $500 each.  Please email mission trips you know about to our Chair, Susan Honeychurch at shoneych5@gmail.com.  Many thanks!

Grace & peace in Jesus Christ,

The Rev. David Reed-Brown, Interim Pastor, Central Baptist Church in Norwich.
