ABCUSA Focus Statement
American Baptist Churches are missional congregations that nurture devoted disciples of Jesus Christ who live their lives in mission and ministry for the healing of the world through the love of God.
ABCUSA Mission Statement
American Baptists are a Christ-centered, biblically grounded, ethnically diverse people called to radical personal discipleship in Christ Jesus. Our commitment to Jesus propels us to nurture authentic relationships with one another; build healthy churches; transform our communities, our nations and our world; engage every member in hands-on ministry; and speak the prophetic word in love.
As a people of prayer, purpose, and passion, we are in the forefront of creating a community of faith where people of every race, nationality and culture gather as one in worship, service and work.
The heart of the gospel is God’s redemptive love. In our life together, the world will see the power of forgiveness to overcome alienation, the strength of love to transform hate, the power of grace to break the bonds of guilt, the triumph of hope over despair, and the victory of faith over doubt.
Through the cross of Christ we embrace the world as neighbor. Our vision for mission energizes a multitude of servant ministries of evangelism, discipleship, leadership, new church development, social justice, healing, peacemaking, economic development and education. Empowered by the Holy Spirit, we work together in mutual submission, humility, love, and giving that the gospel might be preached and lived in all the world.
“Write the vision, make it plain…” Habakkuk 2:2

ABCUSA Office of the General Secretary
One Great Hour of Sharing supports disaster relief, ministries to displaced persons, and development projects of the American Baptist Churches and its partners. The fund is administered by the World Relief Committee of the Board of General Ministries of American Baptist Churches USA. This offering is promoted in May and June.
Throughout the year, there may be special appeals for particular disasters. To designate your OGHS gift, make sure to indicate to which appeal you are responding, for example “OGHS – Ukraine Relief.” The World Relief Committee will disburse the undesignated gifts to domestic and global projects.

American Baptist Home Mission Societies
For nearly 200 years, American Baptist Home Mission Societies has answered God’s call to meet the needs of those living on the margins. We develop programs, publications and resources that encourage, equip and strengthen Christian leaders to make a positive impact in people’s lives. We promote the Christian faith across the United States and Puerto Rico by cultivating Christ-centered leaders and disciples who heal and transform communities in partnership with American Baptists and others.
Your gifts to the America for Christ Offering impact thousands – through ministries with marginalized children, mission trips that transform lives torn asunder by hurricanes, resources that cultivate Christian leaders, chaplains who bring comfort to hospitals and nursing homes, and much more. Two-thirds of received offerings aredirected to the American Baptist Home Mission Societies and one-third are directedto the ABC regional office of the giving church. This offering is promoted in February and March.
Let us not become weary in doing good!

International Ministries
The oldest international Baptist mission agency in North America, International Ministries (IM) has been responding to the call of Jesus Christ since 1814.
The first known missionaries to emerge from the newly formed United States were George and Hannah Liele, emancipated slaves who went to Jamaica in 1783 to share God’s love. Nearly thirty years later, missionaries Adoniram and Ann Judson joined the Baptist movement. After Ann’s early death, Adoniram continued to serve in Burma (now Myanmar) for nearly forty years. Luther Rice, a missionary originally sent to serve with the Judsons, fell ill and had to return to the United States. He dedicated himself to organizing financial support for the Judsons and other missionaries. International Ministries honors those churches and individuals who demonstrate leadership in giving to mission through our Luther Rice Society.
During the World Mission Offering, promoted in September and October, your church has the opportunity to join the transformational work God is doing around the world through International Ministries’ 120+ global servants and 250+ global partners. God can use your participation not only to change lives internationally, but also to deepen your own discipleship in Christ. You can take part in what the Holy Spirit is doing to bring God’s kingdom “on earth as it is in heaven.”

Our Mission
“To promote interest in the better maintenance of the ministry.”
Henry L. Morehouse, Founder and First President, The Ministers and Missionaries Benefit Board
It means we are intentional about providing the best service, resources and a path to secure retirement for those who serve God.
To accomplish this, we embrace the concept of financial wellness, a state in which you practice wise planning, spending and saving with regards to the financial resources which God puts at your disposal.
At MMBB, we believe that financial wellness is achievable no matter where a person is on their financial journey. Through our ministry of providing sound financial and church administration tools, and wise guidance, we’ve learned our members can build financial stability that allows them to set and achieve goals that positively affect their financial objectives.
Let us help you transform your life and, minimize the financial challenges that can distract clergy and lay leaders from serving God and the greater good.
